Business Intelligence Analyst/Developer Job

PACCAR is seeking a Global Credit BI Analyst/Developer to join growing section of our business.  As a Global Credit BI Analyst/Developer will be a part of the Portfolio Risk and Analysis Team, you will contribute to advanced analytics and reporting activities by developing and managing automated data pipelines that consolidate data from PACCAR’s finance organizations in Europe, North America, Latin America, and Australia. Company executives and analytics professionals will rely on you for timely, trustworthy, and relevant data necessary to understand and manage credit risk in an environment of uncertainty.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Serve as a business intelligence expert to provide data and analytic solutions for PACCAR’s worldwide credit organization and executive leadership
  • Provide accurate, timely, and meaningful analysis to support strategic and tactical decision-making
  • Manage acquisition, processing, and consumption of data from sources across the globe
  • Conduct ‘quick-turn’ analysis to support emerging business requirements
  • Deliver relevant and trusted data to business users at all levels of the organization:
    • Develop high-performance SQL queries to support complex reporting and analytic requirements
    • Develop and support executive-level dashboards and reporting requirements using Tableau
  • Manage Corporate Credit data assets:
    • Document data flow, infrastructure, and processes
    • Ensure alignment with corporate data architecture standards for processing and storage
    • Design data models and resilient data structures on a variety of platforms, including Snowflake, SQL Server and MS Access
    • Build fault-tolerant data pipelines, data validation frameworks, and job schedules with an emphasis on automation and scalability
  • Leverage emerging technologies to continuously increase the value of PACCAR’s data assets:
    • Expand and enhance the department’s BI capabilities by developing automated deployment pipelines, APIs, and data processing applications using on-premise and cloud-based tools
    • Maintain strong working relationships with IT departments and regional credit offices to facilitate adoption of digital transformation initiatives
    • Confidently present improvement ideas and technical solutions, that enhance business impact and reduce programmatic risk, to senior managers and executives
  • Support organizational objectives as an integral member of an effective cross-functional credit and risk analytics team

Skills / Competencies
Required Skills:

  • Must be a highly motivated self-directed learner with a creative mind, insatiable curiosity, and meticulous attention to detail
  • Experience with data analytics and business intelligence initiatives
  • Resourceful in getting things done, a self-starter able to contribute independently or collaboratively
  • Excellent general business acumen, with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex topics
  • Proficiency with SQL querying and use of relational database platforms
  • Exposure to ETL tools such as SSIS, Attunity, or Informatica and data-centric programming languages such as Python
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and development approaches
  • Proficiency with data visualizations
  • Strong data gathering, analyzing, interpreting, and problem solving skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Expertise in a data-centric programming language such as Python
  • Hands-on data modeling experience
  • Experience with Tableau or similar data visualization software
  • Proficiency with core AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, RDS, etc.)
  • Hands-on ETL experience with SSIS or Informatica
  • Basic understanding of commercial financial principles

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Business, Analytics, or related field
  • 2+ years of applicable job experience

This position is located at PACCAR’s global headquarters in downtown Bellevue, Washington, and provides an exciting opportunity to support the strategic direction of PACCAR by developing and applying business intelligence and data modeling solutions that support risk management in PACCAR’s multi-billion dollar global portfolio of financial products.
