Requisition Summary
The Corporate Tax Team is in the process of transforming processes and calculations using tools such as Alteryx. The Sr. Tax Accountant position will provide an exceptional opportunity to become an expert in such tools. This role’s main responsibility is over state income tax compliance, state provisions, and state income tax audits. However, this role will likely also be asked to participate in other projects such as the R&D credit documentation.
The position reports to the Tax Manager. The position works closely with the accounting departments of the divisions, outside service providers and interns.
Job Functions/Responsibilities
- Organize data and review of state income tax returns, including quarterly estimated tax payments, tax research, etc.
- Supervise staff in various projects
- Prepare quarterly and monthly state income tax provisions
- Prepare, reconcile, and maintain data within various Excel worksheets to be used in calculating the Research & Development tax credit
- Assist with monthly income tax forecasts
Qualifications
- Strong oral and written communication skills are essential
- Strong PC skills are required, including Word, Excel, and OneSource Software
- Experience with Alteryx software or willingness to learn the system.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Work with limited supervision
- 5+ years of accounting experience with exposure to tax compliance
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
- Master of Tax or equivalent preferred
- Experience in public accounting preferred
- CPA desired
