PACCAR Financial (PFC)
PACCAR Financial facilitates the sale of premium-quality PACCAR vehicles in 20 countries on three continents worldwide by offering a full spectrum of creative, flexible financial products and value-added services specifically tailored to the transportation industry. 

Requisition Summary

Directs, reviews and approves the credit and finance activities for PACCAR Financial in Canada, ensuring compliance with PFC policies, procedures and objectives. This position is located in Toronto (On).

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Achieve PACCAR’s Credit goals targeting minimum credit losses and past dues.
  • Performs credit analysis on end customer and dealer financing requests and decide upon requests within delegated credit authority in a timely manner to foster the sale of PACCAR products.
  • Recommend financing requests for end customers and dealers and actions exceeding assigned authority.
  • Ensure that financial statements from end customers are obtained in a timely matter and evaluate financial stability ongoing.
  • Actively communicate with internal and external stakeholders including PFC senior management, dealership personnel, and end customers, with a focus on obtaining the necessary information to complete a credit analysis.
  • Restructure distressed accounts and complete the Credit Quality Disclosurement analysis.
  • Determine audit frequency and oversee that dealer flooring audits are performed as required.
  • Manage an Area Credit team with 5 direct reports.
  • Develop and promote effective teamwork between Credit and the Sales, Collection and Administration staff.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Manages self independently with remote and non-direct supervision.
  • Work with IT and other internal departments to develop, enhance and implement Credit Scoring and data analytic tools.
  • Keeps abreast of credit and finance industry regulations, requirements and trends, competitor activities.

The Area Credit Manager reports directly to the Director of Credit PFC and indirectly to the Region Manager.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Five to eight years of solid commercial (heavy equipment) lending experience required; truck financing preferred.
  • Minimum five years credit management experience required, including workout experience.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, strong presentation skills.
  • Excellent negotiating skills; strong leadership skills.
  • Strong planning, organization and decision-making skills.
  • Collection experience strongly desirable.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers and dealers.


  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or related field required; Masters degree strongly preferred.
