Division Information

Dynacraft, a PACCAR Company, is headquartered in Algona, WA. Dynacraft performs assembly, light manufacturing and distribution for PACCAR truck plants and the aftermarket. For more than forty years, Dynacraft has provided high quality components, subassemblies and specialized services. Dynacraft’s manufacturing facilities are located in Algona, WA, Louisville, KY, and Plano, TX.

Requisition Summary

The Cost Accounting Lead position will provide the ideal candidate the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to several aspects of the company. The position will provide increasing levels of responsibility and the opportunity to gain exposure to management, including the Controller, General Manager, Operations Managers and other department managers. The position is directly involved in implementing process improvements relating to the cost and pricing functions of the company.  The position has a high potential for growth and requires an individual that will take initiative and be a self-starter.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing cost and pricing functions, including semi-annual cost/price reviews
  • Participate in various month-end closing duties, including preparation and reviewing of journal entries, preparation of general ledger account reconciliations and financial reports, and analysis of variance accounts
  • Perform financial analysis, including budgeting and forecasting
  • Ensure standard costs are accurate
  • Analyze sales, cost of sales and gross margin
  • Lead the review of control activities related to inventory accuracy, including coordinating statistical inventory audits
  • Assist in the facilitation of labor study updates and Bill of Material audits
  • Monitor / analyze freight costs, including developing freight factors
  • Perform various product profitability analyses
  • Participate in pricing activities, including new price generation and margin updates
  • Assist in the coordination of pricing strategy formulation
  • Ensure accurate pricing to customers
  • Participate in control activities related to pricing accuracy, including semi-annual review of customer price changes against SAP
  • Coordinate pricing process improvements
  • Special projects including system implementations, internal control reviews, support SOX activities, assist with year-end activities, and process improvements

Qualifications & Skills

  • Excellent analytical and technical accounting skills
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Strong leadership skills, emphasizing continuous improvement
  • Attention to detail with a “strategic” focus
  • Strong organizational skills required to manage multiple projects from beginning to end
  • Deadline-driven and self-motivated
  • Advanced MS Excel (charts, pivot tables, etc.) and Access skills
  • ERP proficiency preferred
  • Ability to work independently, handling multiple tasks and changing priorities while meeting non-negotiable deadlines


  • BS/BA Accounting degree required
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience required
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • Big 4 public accounting experience preferred
